A stroll around Dubrovnik’s city walls is a must-do for every visitor. For centuries this beautifully preserved defensive wall system protecting churches, grand palaces and a unique history. Six metres deep in some places, the walls are dotted with forts looking out to both sea and land. For two kilometers you’ll enjoy stupendous views of the sparkling Adriatic and the skyline, which speak of the splendour of a town that was once a wealthy republic for 450 years.
On this tour you’ll learn some surprising facts about how and when the wall was built, about the golden age, natural catastrophies and sieges in the Middle Ages to the siege during the Homeland War in the 1990’s. Definitely one of the highlights is a climb to the highest point along the wall which is the top of Minceta Tower, about 50 meters above sea level.
